2020 world Connect Press Release

March 2020

Solicited by the government of the Republic of Malta, and more particularly by the Ministry of Tourism, the organizers of World Connect have decided to move the event from Monaco to Malta from October 29th to 31st , 2020 at the prestigious Westin Dragonara Resort.

Jean Louis BAROUX, president of World Connect, explains: First of all, I would like to thank the government of Monaco for its unchanging support over all these years, and above all congratulate all the teams at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel in Monaco who have accomplished remarkable work during the previous edition which was a great success. So normally, no reason to change. It is clear that our event has reached another dimension. The government of the Republic of Malta has expressed its wish via the Ministry of Tourism to host the 12th APG World Connect by offering a very high quality partnership with all stakeholders, from the Malta Tourist Office to Air Malta, and Malta Airport – Valletta.
In front of all this energy and will to receive us, we decided to move to Malta. New place, new challenge, but no doubt that we will meet the same success as in previous years, firstly because Valletta is a very beautiful city steeped in history, and that promises us a very nice Gala dinner, and lots of other surprises reserved for our participants and our partners. He concludes: “This year the theme chosen will focus on the environment: Next Airline Challenge: Environment.
The air transport industry has had to face 4 major challenges during its long history. The first was safety, the second was security, the third was the democratization of fares, and the fourth is that of the environment. We are in the process of constructing the program, and soliciting prestigious international speakers to come and debate this fascinating subject for two days: October 29th to 31st.”
